In
his own words
At the tender age 11, I heard Sky’s Toccata and was blown away by the concept of Bach’s traditional organ
music being rearranged as a rock piece. The band’s skill and musicianship took my breath away, especially the drumming
which sounded physically impossible for one person to play.
Two years on I joined my first rock band, aged 13, on keyboards.
Decent drummers were a rare commodity so we were a man down. As a last resort I sat on the thrown for the first time and had
a bash myself… literally!
I took to drumming like a natural, enjoying the physical
aspect, and the role of the drummer as the ‘engine room’ of the band.
Perhaps bizarrely for a rock musician I still enjoy orchestral
classics, but rock will always be my true calling.
For me music should stir the emotions or take you on a journey, something both these genres
do and Sacred Heart does in spades.
When I learnt that Sacred Heart was looking for a drummer, I jumped at the chance to audition.
I am really looking forward to gigging with the guys
and hope to kick out some beats that the fans will enjoy.
